Apple’s app store is constantly growing, just recently reporting over a quarter of a million apps available for download. The app store has been around for only a little more than two years so this is quite an achievement from anyone’s point of view.

Apple’s app store is the one place you can get apps for your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch from, all devices being available for free from freebiejeebies. Of course with 250,000 apps, you can’t expect them all to be of a high quality, some apps are an obvious money sink set by developers hoping for maximum return from very little investment. But in the two years that the app store has been around, we have seen some real jewels, such as Tweetie, the twitter app that’s brilliance was recognised by twitter and was later bought out to become the official app. Games are also a big part of the app store, the part that has taken Apple’s interest most recently with Game Center.
